Suit Of Lies

Hearken now, ye knaves and noble folk alike, to a tale most twistèd and treacherous!

 In days of yore, when men faced dragons, and goats were suspiciously well-dressed, there came to pass a gathering most grand “The Summit of the Four Kingdoms!” Yes, four mighty realms, all equally confused and poorly managed, did convene in the spirit of unity, honour, and passive-aggressive diplomacy. 

Each kingdom, in its infinite wisdom (and absolute lack of foresight), did elect a Champion (brave, bold, and not entirely housebroken) to venture forth into the legendary Labyrinth of Wiggledoom, a place riddled with mystical beasts, ancient curses, and at least three unlabelled trapdoor. 

But lo! All was not as it seemed... for skulking amidst the chosen few, garbed in regal deception, be it King, Queen, or Jack, was one known only as… The Joker! A right dodgy fellow, disgruntled by the notion that only the highborn and hygienic may claim the glory of championhood. 

With a heart full of spite and a pouch full of snacks, the Joker's aim was dastardly: to slay the other champions, or failing that, get them so hopelessly turned 'round they’d spend eternity arguing over which torch-lit corridor they’d already been down. 

Yet the champions were not fools (well... mostly not). Suspicion bubbled like a bad stew. Whispered glances and pointed fingers abounded. Could they sniff out the snake in their midst ere they reached the heart of the maze? Or would the Joker's sneakiness doom them to confusion, betrayal, and possibly being eaten by a sentient shrubbery? 

Only time, courage, and a moderate understanding of labyrinthine architecture shall tell. Cue the dramatic lute music and a chicken screaming in the distance.
